Description SpeedyGonsales 2009-01-12 14:20:43 UTC
Special:UncategorizedPages report (in Croatian Posebno:Nekategorizirane_stranice) has a bug, and not a simple one.

Some redirects are counted/listed as uncategorized pages, but not all, and problem is that I can not trace cause/find pattern.

Recently #REDIRECT was translated to #PREUSMJERI, bot changed all occurences of REDIRECT, and now we have a problem.

E.g. http://hr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tracija is listed as uncategorized, redirect is crated on 10:24, 13. 3. 2006., bot changed #REDIRECT to #PREUSMJERI 21:45, 20. 8. 2008.

Unfortunately not all redirects are listed as uncategorized, and I can't find pattern.

Changing product from MediaWiki to Wikimedia.

Maybe related to this bug: Some pages in Catalan Wikipedia appear in Special:UncategorizedPages (http://ca.wikipedia.org/wiki/Especial:P%C3%A0gines_sense_categoria) although they are already categorized. The page is regularly updated (every two or three days) but this pages are stalled there from august.

Example: http://ca.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aissenas

The pattern they seem to folllow is that all of them have been renamed lately. The difference with hr is that wrongly categorized files are not redirects: they are actual articles.

Thank you.

A [http://ca.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Aissenas&action=historysubmit&diff=6247662&oldid=5815287 simple edit] in one of these articles changes something and allows pages updated. When the list is updated, this page is not more listed on it.

The pages are not stored with page_redirect = 1 and so the special page cannot filter out. A simple nulledit (save without changes) does not updated the page_redirect field (Use the API: prop=info has no redirect="").

So this is a bug in MediaWiki.

On ca: Please nulledit (save without changes, [[en:Help:Null_edit#Null_edit]]) the wrong pages.

Note, this is no longer true for [[hr:Tracija]] (Which got me rather confused for a bit), but there are other examples where this holds like [[hr:Kršćanin]].

I'm changing the component to internationalization as this appears to be due to translating the redirect keyword rather then due to the redirection system itself. (if thats wrong and it really belongs in redirects, please change back).
Comment 6 Bawolff (Brian Wolff) 2010-11-08 21:20:32 UTC
Well I'm at it, changing the title.
Comment 7 Paucabot 2010-11-09 05:54:35 UTC
Thank you, we'll do it.

Throwing back away from i18n. It's not an i18n problem but bug that vaguely might be caused by l10n.

Anyone seen this bug happening recently?
Comment 9 Niklas Laxström 2011-09-09 09:10:34 UTC
No new sightings in few years, and old entries can be fixed by purging. I am assuming this has long since been fixed.
