Only certain HTML elements and attributes are allowed by 
default. This limits the usefulness of the software and 
costs processor time and memory.

Not doing HTML validation is a humongous security risk and will never, ever, ever, ever be acceptable.

Additionally, HTML isn't the point. Focus on content is the point, and limited HTML is very deliberate.
