Description Eleanor 2008-12-13 18:37:27 UTC
If you search for sarkozy, you get the desired result but if you just search for merkel, you don't get her page, you have to enter the full name instead. Either this is just an anomaly or there is a more general situtation with standardisation of searching.

[[Sarkozy]] is a redirect to [[Nicolas Sarkozy]]. [[Merkel]] is a disambiguation page, because multiple people with the surname have articles. The search function cannot take you to the page you want without entering the full name because it has no way of knowing which Merkel it is you want.
