Description TheHYPO 2008-10-12 16:34:42 UTC
Whenever I perform a search that includes an apostrophe character, I end up with a forbidden error. This began occuring while I had 1.12.0 installed (I'm fairly certain searches for apostrophes were working at one point on 1.12.0, but then this error began; I'm not sure what the cause was), and was not alleviated by an upgrade.

I have tried a search including every character on the standard windows keyboard with and without shift down. apostrophe is the only character that causes the issue. I haven't tried any other ascii characters at this time.

The URL that results in the forbid is http://www.domain.com/path/index.php?search=test%27s
I can't post the URL, because the wiki is in development.

I should add that the forbid explicitly states:
>You don't have permission to access /path/index.php on this server.

however; with the ?search... removed from the URL, index.php loads index.php?title=Main_Page just fine.

You have a problem with your rewrite rules (htaccess/apache config).
Not a mediawiki bug.
