Description Bertrand GRONDIN 2008-09-24 13:20:42 UTC
We've problems about imports Transwiki with Special:Import function.

It runs imperfectly by importing only one version instead of the whole versions of the source page.

See the log import in french Wikiquote or in french Wiktionary.

Transwiki import with full history is disabled due to performance issues, see https://wikitech.leuksman.com/index.php?title=Server_admin_log#September_20&oldid=16337 :

"14:45 Tim: re-enabled Special:Export with $wgExportAllowHistory=false. Please find some way of doing transwiki requests which doesn't involve crashing the site."

Seems to be limited to 1000 revisions currently (according to Krimpet):
<Mike_lifeguard> Is full history import still disabled?
 <krimpet> Mike_lifeguard: I believe so
<krimpet> // 2008-09-29 putting it back on, with the history rev limit again -- brion
 <krimpet> hmm. not quite
<krimpet> The current limit is 1000 revisions.

However, we do still need a way to get full history transwiki imports without crashing things.
Comment 3 Mike.lifeguard 2009-03-06 14:48:12 UTC
Full history transwiki import was re-enabled with a limit of 1000 revisions.
