Description Reed Hedges 2008-09-22 16:55:59 UTC
We have a list of protected pages with Special:Protectedpages, how about a list of UN protected pages?
Comment 1 Chad H. 2008-09-22 16:57:21 UTC
Is there a need for this? It seems like it will just be a massive list of everything _not_ on Protected Pages.

Right.

Yes. That's exactly what it would be. And yes, there is a need for this... It's why I'm asking for it...

I don't think it would be hard to do, the only thing that stopped me from patching MW myself is that I don't know what all the article attributes (like pr_id, etc.) mean.

What need, exactly? Why would one need a list of _unprotected_ pages?

I'm not saying it's hard, I'm just questioning the use for it.
Comment 5 Reed Hedges 2008-09-24 12:16:54 UTC
Because I need to make sure that pages that ought to be protected are in fact protected and not mistakenly left unprotected. What do people use the list of protected pages for? Probably to check if any pages that ought to be unprotected are mistakenly there.
