'''Võro Wikipedia''' Hi! I asked for creation of [[:en:Võro language|Võro]] Wikipedia last month in foundation-l and in [http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Requests_for_new_languages#V.C3.B5ro_Wikipedia. request page]. Angela forwarded it also to the Wikipedia-l. It was proposed in the discussion that the code for Võro Wikipedia could be for the first time '''fiu-vro''' or '''fiu-voro'''. There was no objections against creating. Mark Williamson ([http://mail.wikipedia.org/pipermail/wikipedia-l/2005-February/037520.html in Wikipedia-l Feb 13]) suggested to ask Brion or TimStarling to create it. I hope you can do it. If there is something I must do before, please say me. Text on the Võro Wikipedia logo could be: "Vikipeediä" "Vaba entsüklopeediä" Regards Sulev --[[User:Võrolang|Võrolang]] 12:40, 14 Feb 2005 (UTC)

The Võro language file can be found here: http://et.wikipedia.org/wiki/LanguageVR.php
Please submit a language file that compiles and runs with the current edition of the software as an attachment to this bug.
Created attachment 418 [details] Võro language file for MediaWiki 1.4.0 The file uses "Vr" as Võro language code, which is not official. If you decide to use some other language code for Võro, the "Vr"-suffixes of the variable names have to be substituted for the code to be actually used.

(In reply to comment #5) >ISO 639 does not define "vr", so that could be used. How that could be used if ISO does not define that? "fiu-voro" could be used instead "vr" for the first time as was proposed in Wikipedia and Foundations lists and in Request page: http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Requests_for_new_languages#V.C3.B5ro Sulev Iva <juvasul@ut.ee>
The files posted are (again) out of date for current version of Mediawiki
Currently dealing with it. Up-to-date files will be posted soon (this week I hope).
Created attachment 983 [details] language file for fiu-vro I'm sending Võro language file that has been tested to work with Mediawiki 1.5.0. Version 1.6beta does not seem to be available for download. Could someone please switch fiu-vro to use the file.
>> Version 1.6beta does not seem to be available for download. 1.6 is not even in the beta stage; it's a pre-pre-pre-alpha, and is not safe for production server use.
(In reply to comment #10) > 1.6 ... is not safe for production server use. Which, of course, is why Wikipedia is running on it :)
Of course; I keep confusing versions of wikis running on various servers. :-) As to Wikimedia's use of it, well, when you have the developer team at your beck and call, things are a little different, aren't they? ;-)
Website is already created: http://fiu-vro.wikipedia.org/ For the language file, please follow the guide on meta: http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/MediaWiki_localisation and open a new bug :)
