Description MZMcBride 2008-08-25 02:26:01 UTC
The URL field has the example. When external links are used inside table syntax, the external links don't work correctly. It seems entirely sensible to have external links take precedence in the parser for this case.
Comment 1 Daniel Friesen 2008-08-25 03:23:54 UTC
That syntax is invalid, you were using a | to separate the link. Links are separated by a space ' ', when you use proper syntax the link works perfectly fine.

Marking as INVALID.
Comment 2 Daniel Friesen 2008-08-25 03:27:16 UTC
Heh, whoops... API like urls, with the | in the url, ok. First glance looked like the common url mistake.

Changing link, this example should show the actual issue on how it differs.

Replace the pipes by %7C. Re-closing as INVALID since there's no need to ever use pipes inside external links.
Comment 5 MZMcBride 2008-08-25 07:22:31 UTC
Isn't the reason for the different syntaxes between external and internal links for the precise reason that pipes are allowed in external links?
