Description Alex Z. 2008-08-16 18:58:22 UTC
The English Wikipedia and other projects have seen a significant increase in template vandalism, including one incident that ended up on the Wikinews main page. The vandalism is pretty much always the same except for the English text, so using a regex to prevent/reduce it should not be too difficult.

Bug 15063 is already assigned to Rob, so while he's in there, might as well do this one too?

Not sure if he needs/wants a suggested regex to add. At the very least, a few diffs of what your talking about would be useful, I think.

There's a diff in the URL field, though I don't know if this is still an issue anymore (and could probably be handled by AbuseFilter)
Comment 3 Betacommand 2009-08-07 19:30:17 UTC
Abuse filter will address this issue

That's obviously not true; we don't have global abuse filters enabled on Wikimedia.

Wikinews has AbuseFilter, and there's bug 28161 to install AF everywhere
