I have my stub formatting threshold set to 2500. When viewing a diff, the arrows (→) that indicate that a section edit was made are displayed as if they link to a stub.

One example is

http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Mathematical_logic&diff=225732434&oldid=224963626

where the arrows before the section title "Foundational theories" are both shown as stubs.
