Description Alexander Mattis 2008-07-09 15:02:36 UTC
If i want to add an image, I type: [[image:kornblume.jpeg]] but the browser just show me this: image:Kornblume.jpeg

Are you referring to using that image on your local wiki? If so, have you uploaded it locally? There's currently no (well supported and documented) way of using remote files (like from Wikipedia) on your local wiki.

Please read http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Help%3AImages

the most important bit: Before using images, you must configure file uploads and upload a file.
Comment 4 Alexander Mattis 2008-07-09 20:48:06 UTC
but why i have to upload it? why it dont work via ftp or extern link?
Comment 5 Daniel Kinzler 2008-07-09 20:49:48 UTC
For using "external" images, see http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Manual:$wgAllowExternalImages
But that's more dangerous, and lacks all the nice features.
