Description brf 2008-06-09 11:23:56 UTC
Contributing math and music to wikipedia, I would wish to enter music with Lilypond (or something else for scorewriting; lilipond is not proprietary) like math. That would be a great feature. I searched the bug list and found bug 189 and bug 9536. In 189 (https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=189) there is a hint, that from 2005 a Lilpond extension should exist. I could not enter simple music in the (german) Spielwiese (sandbox for experiments).

<lilypond>c d e f g</lilypond>

Did I read something wrong or misunderstand something (most probable, excuse me please) or doesn't music score writing work properly on a wikipedia page?

In bug 189 with date 2005 there is a hint, that the problem is already solved:

new version of LilyPond extension (5.66 KB, text/plain)

So my question is not a simple duplicate. I want to know if I can use lilypond in the current wikipedia version and how to do that. Or if the problem is still unsolved. Or if there is no current development.

No, you can't use it on Wikipedia as we have no such extension installed or available at this time.
