Description Robert Murphy 2008-06-06 11:26:23 UTC
In ask queries, it would be very helpful to be able to pass an extra parameter to templates.

When format=template there could be an additional parameter:
 |format=template
 |template=Generic letterman
 |userparam=whatever you want to pass to your template

without this enhancement, SMW users are dependent upon Extension:Variables, an under developed extension.
Comment 1 Markus Krötzsch 2008-06-08 15:40:20 UTC
So what you wish is that the template receives a parameter called "userparam" when being used in the query?
Comment 2 Robert Murphy 2008-06-08 15:48:17 UTC
exactly.
Comment 3 Markus Krötzsch 2008-06-08 17:01:14 UTC
OK, done in SVN. Not sure if "userparam" is very obvious, but that is how it is called now (I can change that until release). The function is available both for format template and list (which both support templates).
