Wikimedia Bugzilla is closed!

Wikimedia has migrated from Bugzilla to Phabricator. Bug reports should be created and updated in Wikimedia Phabricator instead. Please create an account in Phabricator and add your Bugzilla email address to it.
Wikimedia Bugzilla is read-only. If you try to edit or create any bug report in Bugzilla you will be shown an intentional error message.
In order to access the Phabricator task corresponding to a Bugzilla report, just remove "static-" from its URL.
You could still run searches in Bugzilla or access your list of votes but bug reports will obviously not be up-to-date in Bugzilla.

Description Kyungjoon Lee 2008-05-27 06:52:46 UTC

In the e-mail authentication message, [[Special:ConfirmEmail]] appears as a localized string, such as [[특수기능:ConfirmEmail]].

In the message, 특수기능 is expanded as %ED%8A%B9%EC%88%98%EA%B8%B0%EB%8A%A5
However, when you click on the link in MSIE, it gets expanded to %C3%8D%C2%8A%C2%B9%C3%AC%C2%88%C2%98%C3%AA%C2%B8%C2%B0%C3%AB%C2%8A%C2%A5

Consequently, the authentication will fail.

Workaround: use [[Special:]] without urlencoding

Tested with Gmail and MSIE6. Could this be a Gmail problem?

User workaround: copy and paste the link instead of clicking on it.

Sounds like it's probably the same as bug 6957...

I can confirm this with, Gmail, and IE 6.0 on XP SP 2.
