Signatures placed in <gallery> tags do not work, this breaks functionality of a lot of longstanding Wikipedia projects, notably [[Commons:Quality image candidates]], which appears to be trying a very poorly functional hack that fails as often as it works in order to keep up.

In short, this is a terrible bug, and needs fixed soon.
