I'm on Mac OS 10.5.2, running Firefox for my browser. Every so often I run into an article that I can't print - when I select print from the drop-down window up top it brings up the printer selection pop-up - after I select my printer, and push the button to print, I just get that circling little radial circle, and it never stops. I have to Force Quit the application. It seems to be particular articles - right now I can't print the article 'Syon House' altho I can print other Wikipedia articles and other Internet pages - this happened once before with another article but I can't remember which. It's not an issue of which of my printers I select, it happens with both: I have an HP officejet 6210 (color) and an HP laserjet 1200.
Mac OS X 10.5.2, Minefield 3.0pre (i.e. Firefox 3 beta) as web browser and HP Deskjet 5740 as printer, so it's quite the same configuration as yours. I can print Syon House article without problem, the only thing i have is a second page blank (when I output it as PDF, it appears to be images at the right).
Seems a bug for Firefox, not for Mediawiki. And even for that race cases, it only fails on /some/ articles. There's little to do at mediawiki end (avoid some specific markup?).
