Special:Booksources is one of the most popular Special pages, since all of the ISBNs referenced in articles are linking to it. It currently provides a useful list of web links pointing to libraries, book shops (new and used). There are several ways to improve it: 1. Show bibliographic records for a given ISBN. Some of them can be captured by web services (for example from http://www.amazon.com/gp/browse.html?node=3435361). One might want to use free sources, which might be possible in the future thanks to openlibary. 2. Instead of showing a dumb list, it might be useful to already indicate whether the book is in stock there. Wikipedian Jakob Voss has started to build a service called "Sieheauch". http://www.gbv.de/wikis/cls/The_SeeAlso_Linkserver_Protocol 3. Show which sites at that Wiki (here: Wikipedia) are mentioning the ISBN: http://ws.gbv.de/seealso/isbn2wikipedia There are already services out there who do similar jobs, they could be integrated in Wikipedia or at least reconstructed: http://wpplus.bsz-bw.de/wp2bookstore?isbn=3-442-76012-7 4. Link to Book digitalisation projects when they have the text of a book on display (such as Google Book Search, Wikisource, Amazon Search inside). http://ws.gbv.de/seealso/isbn2googlebooks?id=3-442-76012-7
