Dear friends; In order to reference sections of older revisions for UTF-8 pagenames generating very long url's I used to reference sections as: http://en.wikinews.org/w/index.php?oldid=491241#Enable_email_for_user_talk_page_changes http://en.wikinews.org/w/index.php?oldid=491281#Enable_email_for_user_talk_page_changes http://en.wikinews.org/w/index.php?oldid=510473#Enable_email_for_user_talk_page_changes For a reason unknown to me these links all show the newest version. I assume this is a bug. This is what a « Permanent link » link means to me. Maybe I was wrong in the past. Another related issue: When I click on « Permanent link » at [[n:Wikinews:Water cooler]] I get the url http://en.wikinews.org/w/index.php?title=Wikinews:Water_cooler&oldid=491281 This page still shows « Permanent link » . As far as I remember the behaviour changed; some 16 months ago this was not the case. Best regards Reinhardt [[user:gangleri]]
P.S. 491241, 491281 and 510473 are all revissions of the mentined page If one is using a random number as 20 (mentioned in #mediawiki one gets another page http://en.wikinews.org/w/index.php?oldid=20#Enable_email_for_user_talk_page_changes [[n:MediaWiki:Copyrightwarning]]
note: I was told that what one can see is a transclusrion from http://en.wikinews.org/w/index.php?oldid=581793#Enable_email_for_user_talk_page_changes http://en.wikinews.org/w/index.php?oldid=581668#Enable_email_for_user_talk_page_changes shows a different content. Closing this bug as INVALID. As mentioned in the note before both different pages show the « Permanent link » and preserve the id's generating either http://en.wikinews.org/w/index.php?title=Wikinews:Water_cooler/proposals&oldid=581793 or http://en.wikinews.org/w/index.php?title=Wikinews:Water_cooler/proposals&oldid=581668 Sorry for the confusion. Best regards Reinhardt [[user:Gangleri]]
