Wikimedia has migrated from Bugzilla to Phabricator. Bug reports should be created and updated in Wikimedia Phabricator instead. Please create an account in Phabricator and add your Bugzilla email address to it.
Wikimedia Bugzilla is read-only. If you try to edit or create any bug report in Bugzilla you will be shown an intentional error message.
In order to access the Phabricator task corresponding to a Bugzilla report, just remove "static-" from its URL.
You could still run searches in Bugzilla or access your list of votes but bug reports will obviously not be up-to-date in Bugzilla.

Description Whitwood 2008-02-07 17:32:43 UTC
CheckUser is hard to install: I tried doing it via Phpshell for my XAMPP install which has a working copy of MediaWiki 1.12alpha - but couldn't get it to work.

I can't really just add it to extensions folder, with ExtensionFunctions.php and then it'll be installed (not forgetting $wgCheckUserLog directory).

Anyone know if CheckUser will be made easier to install, as [[:mw:Extension:CheckUser]] isn't easy to install for some people.

What do you mean "doesn't work"?
Comment 2 Whitwood 2008-02-08 13:50:53 UTC
See this image:
When I say it "doesn't work", I'm not sure how to get it working with phpShell.
and when it's installed:

It does not create a log in the log directory, and says "No matches found", even though they were.

This is what the log creates:

OK, this looks like a local configuration or "how do I use my database" sort of question. You should try php or mysql support networks for getting this info.
