I am trying to check usage of a categories or a galleries on Wiki Commons by all Wikipedia pages. Since all Wikipedias can link to a Category or a Galery on Commons, so if one renames a Gallery/Category one should check who uses it, and there seem to be no way to check it at the moment. The extension would be equivalent to CheckUsage tab (or separate CheckUsage JavaScript) available for images on Commons. Also current WhatLinksHere link on Commons claims that it is a "list of all Wiki pages that link here" (text visible when hovering with the mouse over the link) what sounds to me that it claims to check all pages on all wikipedias. An example, If needed would be [commons:Warsaw_Uprising] gallery page which is linked from en.wikipedia ([w:Warsaw_Uprising]) and de.wikipedia ([w:de:Warschauer Aufstand]). This "enhancement request" can be viewed as related to WikiCommons categories/galleries only and fixed the same way as it was fixed for images (by providing 2 CheckUsage tools) or it can be generalized to build global WhatLinksHere capabilities for all Wiki projects.
