Wikimedia software SVG renderer does not render scaled versions of the [[:commons:Image:Warszawa Powstanie 1944-08-04.svg]] file, while [http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/7/78/Warszawa_Powstanie_1944-08-04.svg "full view"] shows correctly in Commons. This might be due to: # embedded PNG graphics using <image /> element and linking to a different file on Commons [[commons:Image:Warszawa 1935.png]], I am not sure if such links are supported at the moment. # The problem might also be due to being [[:commons:Image:Warszawa 1935.png]] file beeing over 12 Mega pixel threshold. Related bug: [http://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=3537 3537]. This might be a bug or a "new feature request", I am not sure. I run into this problem while trying to find a way to use SVG to annotate some raster files on commons. Such annotation can be useful for two purposes: # creating new maps by adding a SVG layer on top of existing Raster map. For example [[:commons:Image:Warszawa Powstanie 1944-08-04.png]] and [[:commons:Image:Image:Warszawa Powstanie 1944-09-10.jpg]] are raster versions of such maps based on [[:commons:Image:Warszawa 1935.png]]. They would take much less space in SVG format. # annotation images by identifying people or buildings
