For example, if http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=2004_Indian_Ocean_earthquake&diff=next&oldid=8858359 redirected (via an "HTTP moved temporarily" message) to http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=2004_Indian_Ocean_earthquake&diff=8858359&oldid=8858338 it would be clear from http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=2004_Indian_Ocean_earthquake&action=history which diffs were visited. This would aid in tracking diffs for vandalism (In large articles, just seeing the last few diffs might not help in removing all vandalisms).
Bad idea: the previous or next revision might be deleted and the meaning of the diff=(next|prev) would change. They're just two different features, IMHO.
