Wikimedia Bugzilla is closed!

Wikimedia has migrated from Bugzilla to Phabricator. Bug reports should be created and updated in Wikimedia Phabricator instead. Please create an account in Phabricator and add your Bugzilla email address to it.
Wikimedia Bugzilla is read-only. If you try to edit or create any bug report in Bugzilla you will be shown an intentional error message.
In order to access the Phabricator task corresponding to a Bugzilla report, just remove "static-" from its URL.
You could still run searches in Bugzilla or access your list of votes but bug reports will obviously not be up-to-date in Bugzilla.

Description Andrew 2007-11-26 20:39:50 UTC
When editing a page who's content contains tabs (for formatting, they are wrapped in <pre> and <nowiki> tags) the tabs do not show up in the text area.

For example, I create a page. In the body (text) of the page is some text that contains tabs for formatting, all of which is wrapped in a pre tag. I save the page. The page looks good...all formatting is there. I decide to edit the the textarea for editing, the tabs are no longer there, which means that when I save the page, they are also gone.

This is likely done by your web browser. Can you confirm your OS, browser, and version?

Windows XP SP 2, Firefox

Thank you.

Turns out to be the result of the select category extension. Something that it's doing is removing the tabs from the textarea.

Thank you for your help, closing bug.
