The setting of a sort key by DEFAULTSORT, see http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Help:Magic_words#Miscellany , works for Categories, but seems to be ignored when attributes and relations are listed. On http://krefeldwiki.de/wiki/Attribut:Postleitzahl e.g., the "...tatsch..." should be listed under the heading "T", not ".", and "Et Bröckske" should appear under "B" (as sort keys are always without articles), etc.
The new SMW 1.2 storage implementation maintains sortkeys and uses them everywhere. They can be set with the known MediaWiki function {{DEFAULTSORT:sort key}}.
