Description とある白い猫 2007-10-19 18:22:38 UTC
There are a lot of images from World War Two and etc which will be PD-old in 2015. I want to be able to delete such copyvios to be restored automatically in 2015 when they become PD-old.

2015 is in 8 years time. I think that "temporary deletion" really isn't worth it. Perhaps you could store the file names of the images somewhere, then undelete when the time comes. But Commons (I assume this is what you are referring to) will most likely be a very different commons from how it is today. It would be easier just to reupload them when we can.
Comment 2 とある白い猫 2007-10-19 20:49:41 UTC
Reupload millions of images, videos, audio recordings? No thanks. :)

The request is for images which will have their copyright expire really soon.

If nothing this would save hardrive space worth millions of images such as those from world war 2 era

Why is this a wontfix. For images of people who have died (date of death +70 years = copyright free images), why cant this be applied?

Because Brion said so?
