Hi all, Some time ago, cascade protection has been introduced to protect pages which are within that page included as a template. This great enhancement is being used widely as a tool to prevent pages to be created. Generally, Wiki's have to make a page for that, in which they include the pages which may not be created anymore, and they cascade protect the page then. This is also used in fighting page creation vandalism in a lot of wiki's by spambots. (harder to revert normally) It would be very usefull to have a MediaWiki:Nospam which is standard cascade protected. It would be even better if it was no longer needed to place the accolades on that list anymore, because it is reading every new line as an article, and just do what it has to do (without inclusion): protect from creation. I assume that it should not be a very hard request, a MediaWiki:Nospam page which is just standard cascade protected would make me happy already. Thanks. Lodewijk
Going to WONTFIX this in favour of a proper solution, such as being able to protect nonexistent pages, or lock down pages from creation; there are extensions which will do this, e.g. Lockdown, which need to be reviewed and installed.
