Description Brion Vibber 2007-08-31 19:12:15 UTC
As noted at:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Village_pump_%28technical%29#UI_for_anonymous_users_trying_to_create_a_new_page

The full edit page form is shown when you get to the edit page for a nonexistent page when page create permissions are disabled, as on English Wikipedia. We should be getting a View Source box or similar error instead.

Further, when submitting the page to be saved, it just pops back to the 'this page does not exist' instead of displaying an error message.

This is likely a regression caused by the recent changes to permissions error reporting.

I do get the full edit box and no protection warning on edit. But the tab says 'view source' and I get the 'This site has restricted the ability to create new pages. ' message on submit.
