Hurmf, I did $wgDisableCounters=true. Yes, each page no longer reports its statistics, just as is mentioned in http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Manual:%24wgDisableCounters (but not a peep in DefaultSettings.php), however http://radioscanningtw.jidanni.org/index.php?title=Special:Statistics&uselang=en still says There have been a total of 317,460 page views, and 3,501 page edits since 台掃 was setup. That comes to 8.42 average edits per page, and 90.68 views per edit. Anyway, see it is still wastefully counting and reporting meaningless (in the view of the sysop me, who set $wgDisableCounters=true) page views. Sure one could edit MediaWiki:Sitestatstext, but it is still wastefully counting them in mysql. Perhaps make the one variable into several, for finer control.
I've loaded couple pages and the counter is still on same value - 317,460 / 3,501 / 8.42/ 90.68 so I'd suppose that the numbers shown are last values. If you don't want to display them, just edit [[MediaWiki:Userstatstext]] to have different text (as I've already suggested in bug 11029)).
You've got to be kidding. You mean it's OK with you to display stale values? If that's what they indeed are.
