SF requires a separate form and template. I propose merging forms and templates together and only using templates, essentially. This would eliminate having to create a separate template for each form in order to output the results of the form (and having to recreate the form design from HTML into wiki markup--see previous bug).
Forms and templates are the entire basis of Semantic Forms; there's no way that could be changed without greatly harming the functionality.
How so?
Form pages define the display and behavior of forms, and templates define the display and semantic content of data; there's no way you could merge the two pages into one page and not lose some of the functionality of one or the other (never mind that some forms are responsible for more than one template).
Which specific/exact functionality would be lost with a form-template merge? Can, perhaps, such functionality be optional and, if desired, separate forms/templates for JUST that functionality be allowed then? Specifically, I want to reduce the redundancy between table formatting form elements and template parameter output. While allowing wiki markup in forms would help, there would still be a lot of redundancy between forms and templates...
This isn't really a good forum for such a conversation. If you want to talk further about it, please send an email to me personally, or to the mailing list.
