On the English Wikipedia : * Search of (Paris incategory:"Irish writers") provides 12 articles, including James Lynam Molloy, Patrick Augustine Sheehan, Keith Ridgway, James Joyce and William O'Brien. http://tinyurl.com/2av2m3 * Search of (Marseille incategory:"Irish writers") provides 0 result. http://tinyurl.com/yotckg * Search of (Paris incategory:"Irish writers") OR (Marseille incategory:"Irish writers") provides only 7 results, excluding the five writers mentioned above. http://tinyurl.com/26c5pk We should expect here a result of 12+0=12 instead of this strange 12+0=7.
The queries are OK. The problem is that one of the search servers (srv26) is out of disk space, and is not updating it's index since July 23rd. This is the one that returns 12 search results, so the pages you additionally see have been recently recategorized. It will fix itself this sunday morning with the weekly logrotate script, which will delete some large backlogs from the time we didn't have logrotate on search servers.
Er, can't it be fixed now?
It can, but I would hate to bugger root-access people with it, especially since it will fix itself in bit more than 24 hours.. Anyways, to fix this, delete the old log file on srv26 /usr/local/search/log/log.2 Or the old intallation /usr/local/mwsearch/ to free some additional space so we don't run into space problems some time in future..
Index updated at srv26.
