It would be nice if we could tweak the terms of a block without having to unblock first, much as we can with page protections.

agreed, it should still be required to unblock when changing block length. but to live tweak settings like:

* Prevent account creation
* Block this user's last IP address, and any subsequent addresses they attempt to edit from
* Prevent user from sending e-mail

would be great!

No reason to require unblocking before changing block length, so far as I can see.
