Wikimedia Bugzilla is closed!

Wikimedia has migrated from Bugzilla to Phabricator. Bug reports should be created and updated in Wikimedia Phabricator instead. Please create an account in Phabricator and add your Bugzilla email address to it.
Wikimedia Bugzilla is read-only. If you try to edit or create any bug report in Bugzilla you will be shown an intentional error message.
In order to access the Phabricator task corresponding to a Bugzilla report, just remove "static-" from its URL.
You could still run searches in Bugzilla or access your list of votes but bug reports will obviously not be up-to-date in Bugzilla.

Description Meno25 2007-07-10 11:18:27 UTC
There is high demand for reattributing edits. (See [[Wikipedia:Changing attribution for an edit]].) However, developers are always busy and not available to fulfill the requests, so, please grant stewards the ability to re attribute edits on all wikis. I believe that a new extension should be created and a new log (can be called "Reattribution log") were reattribution of edits is recorded (something like "Re attributed $1 edits to $2", example: "Reattributed 6 edits to User:Example@enwiki"). Stewards then can checkuser the user to be sure that the user uses the IP that he wants to reattribute its edits. Since stewards don't speak all wikipedia languages, requests could be revised first by local admins (to ensure that the request is valid and not just vandalism).

Changing product/component; requires an extension that can do this.
