Default favicon for MediaWiki

Having a default or standard favicon will have a good impression on the first time installer. MediaWiki already have $wgFavicon which is currently set to '/favicon.ico'. Based on http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Image:MediaWiki_logo.png, a favicon is created and proposed to be included in standard distribution of MediaWiki.

Favicon is a site-specific thing, we wouldn't want to override other peoples' site stuff.

Agree, I found it really annoying when I had to find and kill Mambo's favicon for my site. Why would I want a MediaWiki favicon rather than my own site's favicon, if I have one? If I don't have one, maybe I'd like a MediaWiki icon, but maybe not. More likely, I don't even know or care what a favicon is, so I would just be confused if I noticed at all.

OK. I thought that including a default favicon for a first time installer is a "eye-catching" feature that will make an additional good first impression. At least I notice that for different application installation, but it's just a preference I think. Thanks.
