Hi, At mr wikibooks we are looking for support for https://mr.wikibooks.org/wiki/साचा:अविशिष्ट_उपपान which is an equivalent of Template:Random Subpage. साचा:अविशिष्ट_उपपान was imported from mr-wikipedia works ok at mr-wikipedia but not working at mr-wikibooks. I am looking for support upgrade where in usage of the template would not be too defficult for a lay person like me. At the same time stable, supported and ok in security point of view. Every other wiki seems to be using some different code for Template:Random Subpage and I am confused as of now. Local support request is at https://mr.wikibooks.org/wiki/विकिबुक्स:चावडी#साचा:अविशिष्ट_उपपान Thanks and best wishes
Sorry but this is out of scope for Bugzilla as it's about on-wiki templates. Furthermore, if it's not working on mr.wikibooks.org, please provide steps to reproduce (step by step) to reproduce how it is "not working". https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Templates provides some links that might be helpful, also for support. > Every other wiki seems to be using some different code for > Template:Random Subpage and I am confused as of now. My very personal opinion: That's the problem with templates - everybody is copying code that s/he might not understand and then changes some lines and then does not synchronize changes between all those copied versions. That's why templates are not tracked in Bugzilla - they have no central codebase currently, unfortunately, so it's a big mess.
(In reply to Andre Klapper from comment #1) What scope and what to reproduce sirji,? Forget the currently available template on mr-wikibooks. I would be quite ok with a new/ copied Template:Random Subpage. I am looking for support upgrade where in usage of the template would not be too defficult for a lay person like me. At the same time stable, supported and ok in security point of view. End of the day what is supposed to matter is support, and some times bugzilla asks to run behind unknown pillars and posts. Thanks any way.
I understand that you look for support but unfortunately Bugzilla is not a support forum for on-wiki code. I am not sure if there is a general place on a wiki where Template issues could be brought up otherwise I would have linked to it... Sorry. :-/ You might want to ask on the talk pages of the original template or the template on mr.wikipedia, or contact its authors?
I fixed the template. (On wikis which use non arabic-hindu digits (or whatever the proper name is for 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,0 is), you can't use {{#time:U}} directly to do calculations, you either have to tell #time:U not to localize digits, either via xN flag ({{#time:xNU}}) or {{formatNum:{{#time:U}}|R}}). I also fixed the docs at [[help:Extension:ParserFunctions]] which was saying the wrong thing.
