Description Jonatan Svensson Glad (Josve05a) 2014-06-23 03:19:43 UTC
I am currently logged in on Wikipedia and Wikidata, but I can't log in on Meta or Commons.
When I press log in-link at the top right corner, it takes me back to the home page without logging me in.
I am still logged in on Wikipeadia and Wikidata, but not on Meta or Commons.

I attach a video-screenshot of what happens.
1. I show that I am logged in on WIkipedia.
2. I press log in at the top of Meta.
3. I get back to the home page of Met, not logged in.
4. I press log in at the top of Meta again.
5. I quickly press the green "log in"-button.
6. I get back to the home page of Met, not logged in.

I talked with hoo on IRC, this is the transcript:
[...]
<hoo> Josve05a: Try pressing F5 maybe CentralAuth logged you in in the background ;)
<Josve05a> nope
[...]
<hoo> are you logged in globally alreadY?
<Josve05a> yes
[...]
<Josve05a> I am logged in on wikipedia
<Josve05a> and wikidata
<Josve05a> but not commons or meta
<hoo> that shouldn't happen
<hoo> usually just a click on log in should log you in, no need to put your data
<Josve05a> https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Special:Contributions/81.236.232.15 <<< I edited with my IP. That's when I noticed I wasn't logged in
<Josve05a> started on 17 June or so...

If I enter "modile mode" of the webpage, I can log in. But then if I go to the "normal mode" of e.g. Meta, I am still not logged in.
Comment 3 Andre Klapper 2014-06-23 10:43:33 UTC
Does this problem also happen with another browser?
Comment 4 Jonatan Svensson Glad (Josve05a) 2014-06-23 12:31:59 UTC
No. I can log in on Chrome, but then if I switch back to Firefox, I am still not logged in on that browser.
This only happens to websites that are ****.wikimedia.org

Sounds like an issue with cookies to me then and something to fix in your Firefox browser...
Comment 6 Jonatan Svensson Glad (Josve05a) 2014-06-23 13:44:40 UTC
I tried again. This time it said "Wikimedia Commons uses cookies to log in users. You have cookies disabled. Please enable them and try again."
I have cookies enabled....
Comment 7 Jonatan Svensson Glad (Josve05a) 2014-06-23 13:52:39 UTC
I got it to work! I had to clear all(!) my cookies...didn't think of that! (Stupid me!)
