I think before a2120b0bd0fed4dba09204f0bb2c4e477ac5b657 API list=imageusage returned the redirect pages themselves. Is it desired behaviour not returning the redirect pages? Example query: https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/api.php?format=jsonfm&action=query&list=imageusage&iutitle=File:%27%20onmouseover=%27alert%28%22There%20is%20a%20security%20vulnerable.%20Please%20contact%20the%20next%20admin%20if%20you%20see%20this%20in%20a%20message%20box.%22%29%27%20target=%27.png Note that the link from the redirect page https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=File:Security_testfile.png&redirect=no is missing. It is, however listed at https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Special:WhatLinksHere/File:%27_onmouseover%3D%27alert%28%22There_is_a_security_vulnerable._Please_contact_the_next_admin_if_you_see_this_in_a_message_box.%22%29%27_target%3D%27.png I am asking because I saw nothing at the API-announce mailing list.
It was actually Gerrit change #105829 that did this, not Gerrit change #105830. The logic behind the change is that the redirect page isn't actually using the image, it's just linking to it, so it should be recorded in pagelinks rather than imagelinks. I'll send out the belated notice to the API announcements list shortly.
