Editor Joe Decker suggests that by the time you reach this stage in creating a new source, the design has lost the context here and suggests that (unless bug 51184 clarifies the "Create new source" options) proper templates (cite book; cite news; etc.) become "one-click options" at this point. This would prevent an easy and obvious error that occurs here - when a user types "book" into the template field, it pulls up a template unrelated to citations. He also suggests that some of the white space here be used to give instructions to new users as to how this process is done.
I'm going to mark this as a duplicate of bug 50110 - this approach is very similar to what I imagine we're going to do for this. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 50110 ***
