Wikibase should expose some health indicators that can be used by site monitoring systems. Indicators could include * size (estimates) of some critical tables, like ** items_per_site ** page_per_entity ** and terms ** changes * number of changes during the last x minutes * lowest timestamp in changes_dispatch ...and perhaps more.

Though, the size of the database tables is pretty much a more generic MySQL check. Based on size on disk (because space isn't unallocated) and the actual size

Also make sure that if it makes sense this information is also logged/graphed somehwere, e.g. graphite.wikimedia.org .
