Hi there, following a decision of the international team organising Wiki Loves Monuments 2013, I hereby request the creation of a mailing list for the African countries participating in the competition. The suggested name of the mailing list is wlm-africa@lists.wikimedia.org. The default admins should be myself (odder.wiki@gmail.com) and Lodewijk (effeietsanders@gmail.com). Please send the generated password to both addresses, and set up the mailing list with archives; the rest of the settings will be set up by ourselves. Thanks in advance, -- Tomasz (odder)
Just thinking for the future here - are we going to be using more lists per continent (e.g. wlm-europe@), or country? In other words, do we want to come up with a standardised suffix for these lists (like we have -XX for the Wikimedia- chapterS), or will there only be a few of these lists?
Probably not that systematically. However, I learned last year that the African countries were experiencing similar problems and challenges and most did not have enough critical mass to have their own list to discuss these issues. I thought it to be helpful to them to be able to share and discuss on a seperate forum besides the international one. Just like there is a similar mailing list for Iberocoop-countries and some specific countries like India, the Netherlands and Belgium (but at another domain). Maybe it would also make sense in parts of Asia, but maybe not - I'm unsure if they have enough similar issues. Anyway, lets just see what works best! Thanks for the thought though.

Added yourself and Lodewijk as the list admins, check your emails for the list admin password. Please make sure you add both a "terse phrase" and description for the list.
