I wonder why users are not allowed to view the deleted contributions for other users. They also cannot view the deleted contributions of themselves. The deletion log of each user should not be kept secret. MediaWiki should allow all users to view the deleted contributions for each user.
The purpose of removing pages is to hide the content. Pages are not removed to allow everyone to have access to that. If you want to change configuration of your wiki, you can add permissions "deletedtext" and "deletedhistory" to user group in LocalSettings.php.
I'm not requesting to allow viewing the deleted contents. Just allowing the deleted log/history does not show the contents.
Some things are deleted because of their edit summarie, too. In any case, this is not a technical issue, but a social one and therefore it should be requested elsewhere (hint: foundation-l). Once there's unambiguous consensus to do so, and it's approved by foundation's lawyer, feel free to reopen with a link to consensus. "I want it" is not a valid reason.
Is it ok to only allow the user to view hisown deleted contributions log/history?
